Kim Kardashian recently opened up about the challenges of being a single parent after her divorce from Kanye West. Speaking on the What the Winkler? podcast with her friend Zoe Winkler, Kim, 44, shared how parenting can sometimes feel overwhelming, even with a strong support system.
“I think we’ve really bonded over talking about parenting and dealing with judgment,” Kim said. “Sometimes, it feels like you’re in this alone, even when you have people around to help.”
Kim admitted that while she faces tough moments, she often keeps quiet about them to avoid outside criticism.
“In the middle of the night, when all the kids are in your bed, crying or kicking, it can get overwhelming,” she explained. “I don’t talk about it much because people often say, ‘Oh, but you have nannies and help.’ But honestly, no matter how much help I have, I’m the one raising four kids on my own.”
Kim and Kanye, 47, share four children: North, 11, Saint, 8, Chicago, 6, and Psalm, 5. The couple divorced in 2021 after almost seven years of marriage, finalizing the process in late 2022. Since then, Kanye has married Bianca Censori, a designer for his Yeezy brand.
Despite her glamorous life, Kim stays hands-on with her kids, handling everyday tasks like getting them ready for school.
“Just this morning, I had to take five kids to school,” she said. “Everyone wanted to leave at different times and had different requests. I felt like I was a race car driver at a pit stop!”
Her efforts don’t go unnoticed. On her birthday in October, her kids surprised her with heartfelt gifts. North gave her a gold-and-diamond necklace, while all the kids teamed up to decorate balloons with Polaroids and sweet notes. One note read, “You are a flower to me,” while another said, “Happy birthday, I love you, Mom.”
Kim proudly shared the gifts on Instagram, including a sparkly Balenciaga bag her kids gave her. “When I see a crystally bag, it’s like heaven for me,” she said with a smile.
Even with the ups and downs, Kim’s love for her kids shines through. “It’s a lot,” she admitted, “but they’re my everything.”
