SNELLVILLE, Ga. – Gwinnett County police, along with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, are working to figure out exactly what happened during a late-night shooting involving an officer on Sunday in Snellville.
It all started just before 11:30 p.m. when a concerned neighbor called 911. The caller, who lives on the 3600 block of Holland Drive, reported hearing four to five gunshots followed by someone screaming. Officers from the Gwinnett County Police Department quickly responded to the scene.
When they got there, they could hear people arguing inside the house. As the officers were getting ready to approach, a man suddenly walked out the front door—and he had a handgun. The injured man was rushed to a nearby hospital and is currently in stable condition. Authorities haven’t shared his name yet, but they’ve confirmed that charges are on the way.
Thankfully, no one else was hurt during the incident.
