A man in his 30s is fighting for his life after a late-night stabbing on Nicollet Mall in Minneapolis. The incident unfolded late Monday night, just before midnight.
Police officers from the Minneapolis Police Department, along with Metro Transit Police, rushed to the scene near Nicollet Avenue and South 5th Street. There, they found the man bleeding and in critical condition. Officers quickly provided medical aid, and the man was rushed to Hennepin Healthcare Hospital for treatment.
About half an hour later, officers arrested a 58-year-old man believed to be responsible for the stabbing. Using security cameras, police tracked the suspect’s movements to Colfax Avenue South and Lake Street. When they arrested him, he was also injured from something that happened before the arrest, so he was taken to the hospital for medical care.
Early investigations suggest that an argument between the two men may have led to the violent attack. However, police haven’t shared more details about what exactly happened or updated the public on the victim’s condition.
This incident has left the downtown Minneapolis community shaken, as people try to piece together what led to this tragic event.
