In Mobile, Alabama, the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a woman accused of killing her ex-boyfriend.
The incident unfolded when officers from the Mobile Police Department were called to a local hospital after a woman arrived in her personal car, bringing in a man who had already passed away. Authorities later identified the man as Lazarus Tanksley.
Following this discovery, officers headed to Lazarus Tanksley’s home on St. Stephens Road, where they met with a witness. This witness admitted to helping load the victim into the car and revealed that the woman who brought Lazarus to the hospital was his ex-girlfriend.
The investigation was then taken over by the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office. A second witness came forward later that morning, shedding more light on the situation. She told deputies that she had gone to Lazarus Tanksley’s house with a woman named Genesis Tanksley. According to her, Genesis and Lazarus got into an argument, which escalated until the witness heard a gunshot. Frightened, she ran away on foot and hadn’t seen Genesis since.
The sheriff’s office has now confirmed that Genesis Tanksley is in custody. According to the jail log, she has been charged with murder. The investigation is ongoing as authorities continue to piece together what happened.
