A man from Donaldsonville, Louisiana, is now behind bars after being accused of attempted murder. The Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested 39-year-old Fondell Joshua on Monday and charged him with attempted second-degree murder, aggravated assault with a firearm, and illegal use of weapons.
According to deputies, the incident unfolded Monday morning when Joshua allegedly shot his dating partner. The victim was rushed to a local hospital for treatment and is expected to recover, authorities said.
This isn’t Joshua’s first run-in with the law. Records show he previously faced a domestic abuse battery charge.
As of now, jail records indicate that no bond has been set for Joshua. The incident highlights ongoing concerns about domestic violence and the dangers it poses to communities like Donaldsonville and beyond.
