Man Confesses to Shocking Family Tragedy After Years of ‘Bullying’—What Led to This Deadly Breaking Point?

Share news:

A tragic and shocking incident unfolded in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, when a 32-year-old man allegedly shot and killed his younger sister before turning himself in at a police station. The suspect, Gerardo Jimenez-Rico, confessed to the crime, telling detectives he had reached his breaking point after years of being bullied by his 22-year-old sister, Jocelyn Jimenez.

But the violence didn’t stop there. Jimenez-Rico also admitted to shooting both of his parents, a 56-year-old father and a 54-year-old mother, for the same reason. Thankfully, they survived their injuries, but he now faces serious charges, including first-degree intentional homicide for his sister’s death and two counts of attempted homicide for attacking his parents. Along with these charges, authorities have added two extra legal classifications—one for domestic abuse and another for using a dangerous weapon.

The horrifying incident took place on the evening of Wednesday, January 22, at a home near 40th Street and Cheyenne Street in Milwaukee. Police officers arrived at the scene around 6:30 p.m. after receiving a call about a shooting. Inside, they found three adults suffering from gunshot wounds. Tragically, Jocelyn Jimenez was pronounced dead at the scene.

Jimenez-Rico’s injured mother, despite her wounds, was able to tell officers that her own son was the shooter.

While authorities were still processing the crime scene and preparing to search for him, Jimenez-Rico walked into the District One Milwaukee Police Station and calmly admitted to what he had done. “I shot someone,” he reportedly told officers before giving a full confession.

During questioning, Jimenez-Rico revealed that his family had just returned from a monthlong trip to Mexico earlier that day. He didn’t go with them because he was unemployed and couldn’t afford the trip. He described feeling constantly picked on by his family, saying they often ganged up on him because he didn’t have a job.

The final argument that led to the shooting reportedly started over something as simple as dirty dishes. His father and sister were complaining about him leaving dishes in the sink, and the conversation quickly escalated. They also mentioned that he would soon need to find another place to live.

Feeling overwhelmed and angry, Jimenez-Rico pulled out a gun from his waistband and fired at his father. He later told detectives that he had just had enough of the bullying.

After seeing her father get shot, Jocelyn reportedly picked up a knife, and in response, Jimenez-Rico fired at her, killing her. He then shot his mother as well, though he later told officers he didn’t mean to and couldn’t explain why he did it.

The community is now mourning the loss of Jocelyn, especially her 4-year-old daughter, who has been left without a mother. A fundraiser has been set up to support her child and parents, covering hospital bills, therapy, and other essential costs.

“This horrific incident has left Jocelyn’s family, including her fiancé, older sister, and young daughter, in unbearable grief,” the fundraiser page says.

What started as a family dispute over household chores ended in a devastating act of violence. Now, one life has been lost, two others hang in the balance, and a man faces the weight of his actions as he awaits justice.
