The family of a Michigan woman, Domonique C. Watson, claims she was murdered by her husband after she was shot inside her own home. The 33-year-old mother was found dead on Wednesday, February 26, after suffering at least one gunshot wound.
According to the Saginaw Police Department, officers responded to reports of gunfire at 2615 Maplewood Ave in Saginaw around 1:30 p.m. Upon arrival, they discovered Domonique’s body inside the home. A 60-year-old man was also found with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was immediately taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Authorities have classified the case as a “domestic-related homicide” and continue to investigate the circumstances. While some reports suggest that Domonique and the man had children together but were not legally married, her mother, LaMonique Cooper, strongly believes otherwise. In an emotional online tribute, LaMonique stated that she was out shopping when she received the heartbreaking news that her daughter had been murdered by her husband.
In her tribute, LaMonique shared how strangers in the store comforted her during her moment of grief. She recalled how store employees and customers offered kind words, sat with her, and provided tissues as she broke down in tears. She also mentioned that one shopper stayed by her side until her husband arrived to take her home.
LaMonique has since launched a GoFundMe campaign to raise $3,500 for Domonique’s memorial service. So far, the fundraiser has collected $3,125, with donations still being accepted. She described her daughter as a beautiful soul taken away too soon and pleaded for support to give her a proper farewell.
This tragic incident has left family and friends devastated. Police are continuing their investigation to uncover more details about the shooting. As they work through the case, loved ones are focused on honoring Domonique’s memory and ensuring her children receive the support they need during this difficult time.
Anyone willing to help with the funeral expenses can donate to the GoFundMe page created by LaMonique. The family remains hopeful for justice while grieving the sudden loss of a beloved mother, daughter, and friend.
