The FBI’s Boston Division and the Maine State Police are offering a $15,000 reward to help find a missing teenage girl from New Sweden, Maine. Fourteen-year-old Stefanie Damron was last seen two months ago, and her family is desperate to bring her home.
Stefanie was reported missing on September 24, after she walked out of her house and into the woods near West Road in New Sweden the day before. At a recent press conference, authorities mentioned that Stefanie had run away from home before, but this time her disappearance has sparked a large-scale search.
“We hope this reward encourages someone who knows anything to come forward. Even the smallest detail could help,” said Jodi Cohen, Special Agent in charge of the FBI Boston Division. “Stefanie’s family just wants answers, and we are doing everything we can to support our law enforcement partners in finding her.”
Stefanie is described as white, with green eyes and shoulder-length brown hair. She is about 5 feet tall and weighs around 130 pounds. She was homeschooled and had limited access to social media. The last time she was seen, she was wearing blue jeans, a long-sleeved blue shirt, and black Harley-Davidson hiking boots.
Since her disappearance, investigators have chased down leads not just in Maine but across the U.S. and even into Canada. The Maine State Police, who are leading the investigation, are determined to leave no stone unturned.
“We won’t give up on finding Stefanie,” said Colonel William Ross of the Maine State Police. “We’re grateful for the FBI’s help, and we urge anyone with information to come forward. Even the smallest tip could make a big difference for Stefanie’s family.”
If you have any information about Stefanie’s whereabouts, please contact the Maine State Police Houlton Barracks at 1-800-924-2261 or (207) 532-5400. Tips can also be submitted online. Authorities are asking everyone to spread the word—someone out there might hold the key to bringing Stefanie home.
