In a dramatic incident aboard American Airlines flight 1915 from Milwaukee to Dallas-Fort Worth, quick-thinking passengers subdued a Canadian man who attempted to open the aircraft door midair. The situation unfolded when the man, increasingly agitated, declared his need to exit the flight immediately and approached the door, injuring a flight attendant in the process.
According to reports from NBC News, the man, who later claimed to be the “captain” of the plane, was restrained by passengers Doug McCright and Charlie Boris, among others. McCright, seated in the front row, was pivotal in physically restraining the individual, motivated by the urgent need to ensure the safety of everyone on board. Boris described the adrenaline-fueled moment, grateful for the outcome once the situation was under control.

The disruptive passenger was eventually secured using duct tape, a component of the onboard safety kit, to bind his hands and ankles until the flight safely landed in Dallas. Upon arrival, law enforcement and medical personnel boarded the aircraft and took the man for a medical evaluation.
American Airlines has confirmed the use of duct tape in emergency situations to ensure the safety and security of passengers and crew. The airline expressed gratitude towards the crew and passengers who managed the situation, emphasizing that the safety and security of all on board is their highest priority.
The incident is currently under investigation to further understand the motives and actions of the man involved.
