In Spartanburg, South Carolina, a peaceful lunch break turned into a nightmare for an employee of the Spartanburg Downtown Memorial Airport when he became the victim of a drive-by shooting. The incident happened on Sunday at the intersection of South Church Street and Caulder Avenue, not far from the airport located on 150 Airflow Drive.
According to the police report, the victim said he was sitting in his parked car, texting, when the unsettling event unfolded. A gold-colored vehicle drove past him, circled back, and then came by again. That’s when the victim heard a loud “bang,” followed by two more similar sounds. Instinctively, he raised his arm to shield his face, only to realize moments later that he had been shot.
The victim described the suspect as someone wearing a blue hoodie. After being hit, he quickly drove away from the scene and called 911 when he noticed blood dripping from his arm. He was taken to the hospital, where doctors discovered the bullet had entered and exited his left arm.
Police officers arrived at the scene but couldn’t find any shell casings. To assist with the investigation, they towed the victim’s car to the police department for closer examination.
As of now, the police are continuing their search for the suspect and any additional evidence. The incident has left the community shaken, and authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward.
