In Nixa, Missouri, the police are on the lookout for a driver who fled the scene after a crash that was caught on camera.
The incident happened back in November on a rainy evening at around 7:24 p.m. It all took place on U.S. Highway 160 near Aldersgate Drive. Two cars were heading south when a silver or gold car, believed to be a Chevy Impala, suddenly lost control. The car side-swiped another vehicle, causing it to swerve off the road and into a ditch. But instead of stopping, the driver of the Impala sped off.
Thankfully, no one was hurt, but detectives want to track down the driver who left.
“By state law, if you’re involved in an accident, you have to stop,” explained Detective Matt Sloan of the Nixa Police Department. “You need to either contact the police or share your information with the other driver. That includes your contact details and insurance information.”
Detective Sloan added that the runaway car likely has noticeable damage on its front passenger side, which could help identify it.
