In Ocala, Florida, a man’s road trip ended in handcuffs after he was caught driving a stolen car. Marion County Sheriff’s deputies reported that Jayme Motley-Simmons took the vehicle from a home on Southwest 80th Street in Ocala.
The adventure didn’t last long. Police in Alabama spotted the car on January 2 and pulled Motley-Simmons over. During the stop, officers discovered more than just the stolen vehicle – he was also carrying a stolen gun.
After his arrest, Motley-Simmons was taken into custody. However, he didn’t stay behind bars for long. On the afternoon of January 3, he posted bond and was released.
The incident has left many in the community surprised and highlights the challenges law enforcement faces when dealing with cross-state crimes.
