Robbery Duo Caught After Stealing Items from Lancaster County Storage Units

Share news:

Two men are facing serious charges after a string of robberies, including one that involved shooting a State trooper, in Lancaster County. The men have now been hit with burglary charges after being linked to several storage unit thefts earlier in 2024.

Timothy Mauldin, 33, was arrested on December 31, 2024. He’s been charged with eight counts of burglary and two counts of criminal trespassing. The crimes go back to the summer of 2024, when Mauldin and his accomplice carried out a series of thefts. His partner in crime, Alfredo Maldonado-Gonzales, 42, is facing the same 10 charges.

Manheim Township Police responded to reports of theft at two Moove in Self Storage locations on New Danville Pike and Vermont Ave. When officers arrived, they found several storage units had been broken into, with locks cut and items missing.

Among the stolen goods, valued at $30,350, were:

  • Clothing

The investigation took a turn when police received surveillance footage showing Mauldin rummaging through one of the units on July 16, alongside another man. The second man was later identified as Maldonado-Gonzales, who now faces the same charges.

As if that wasn’t enough, Pennsylvania State Police were also looking into Mauldin for a separate, but serious, incident involving a shooting of a State trooper. Authorities believe that Maldonado-Gonzales was involved in the shooting, along with Mauldin and others.

In their search of Mauldin’s home, investigators found several stolen items from the storage units. Mauldin’s phone also provided crucial evidence, with photos of the stolen items and texts discussing the burglaries, including one message that read, “I kinda wanna go back to Danville.”

Cellphone records placed Mauldin at the crime scenes during the thefts, sealing the case against him and his accomplice.

It looks like these two won’t be getting away with their crime spree anytime soon!
