The victim received a call from someone claiming to be his grandson, who said he had been arrested for driving under the influence and was too embarrassed to tell his parents. Shortly after, a second caller, posing as a law enforcement representative, demanded $6,000 for bail. Believing the story to be true, the victim withdrew the money and handed it over to a driver sent by the scammers.
