Roommate Vanishes After Christmas: Woman Arrested 1,200 Miles Away in Chilling Murder Mystery

Share news:

Police body camera footage reveals the arrest of a woman in Hartford, Connecticut, linked to a shocking case thousands of miles away in Florida. The suspect, 42-year-old Gisselle Victoria-Gonzalez, is accused of murdering her roommate, 42-year-old Runyleidy Medina-Pacheco, who is still missing.

The troubling story began when Victoria-Gonzalez reported Medina-Pacheco missing to the Orlando Police Department on December 27, 2022. She claimed she hadn’t seen her roommate since Christmas. Officers responded to their shared home on Curry Ford Road in Orlando that day. However, Victoria-Gonzalez’s account quickly raised suspicions. Detectives said her story was full of inconsistencies.

As investigators dug deeper, they uncovered evidence that pointed to a violent event in the home. A search warrant was executed, and what they found confirmed their worst fears. Although authorities have not shared specific details about the evidence, it was enough to label Medina-Pacheco’s disappearance as suspicious.

After months of investigation, authorities finally tracked Victoria-Gonzalez to Hartford, Connecticut, over 1,200 miles away. On November 6, 2024, she was taken into custody. The moment was captured on a police body camera, showing officers speaking to Victoria-Gonzalez, who said she spoke little English. A translator assisted her in Spanish during the arrest.

While Victoria-Gonzalez now faces charges, including second-degree murder, the search for Medina-Pacheco continues. The Orlando Police Department is still hoping to locate her and bring closure to her family.

Police are urging anyone with information about Medina-Pacheco’s whereabouts to come forward. They can contact the Orlando Police Homicide Unit or call Crimeline at 800-423-TIPS (8477).

This case remains a painful mystery for those close to Medina-Pacheco, and authorities are determined to uncover the full truth about what happened.
