Seattle police have arrested a mother after a heartbreaking incident where her 14-year-old son passed away at Harborview Medical Center. The tragic event unfolded on Thursday afternoon at an apartment complex in South Seattle.
Authorities say they got a call around 2:17 p.m. about an altercation at an apartment along 14th Avenue South. When officers arrived, they found the teenage boy unresponsive, suffering from multiple injuries. Emergency responders did everything they could to help him, rushing him to Harborview Medical Center. Sadly, despite their efforts, the boy didn’t survive.
The boy’s 29-year-old mother was taken into custody and is now being investigated for homicide. She has been booked into King County Jail.
Right now, there are still many unanswered questions. It’s unclear what led to the altercation or the exact nature of the injuries the boy suffered.
