Angela Andreas-Miller, a 52-year-old woman from Airway Heights, found herself in serious trouble after police arrested her Thursday on suspicion of possessing several explosive devices. The situation unfolded at her apartment, located at 13660 W. 6th Avenue, where police discovered one explosive device. Things escalated when they found seven more in her car.
It all started when officers went to her apartment with a search warrant—not for explosives, but for alleged identity theft. What they found instead was unexpected and alarming. Inside the apartment, officers came across an incendiary device, prompting them to evacuate the entire apartment complex to ensure everyone’s safety.
Angela initially claimed she had no knowledge of any bombs in her home, saying that friends often had access to her apartment. But as the investigation continued, police found handwritten notes in her room that detailed how to make explosives. When confronted with this, Angela had an unusual explanation. She told officers she was writing a novel about a U.S. Marshal and had researched how to make fireworks to “understand what she was writing about.”
The devices found were described as highly combustible. Each was made from a pipe containing a fuse and packed with screws—a dangerous combination, according to court records. Authorities safely removed the explosives and are continuing their investigation with the help of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
Lt. Jake Keith from the Airway Heights Police Department confirmed the discovery and arrest but declined to share further details, citing the ongoing investigation.
This shocking discovery has left the community on edge as police work to determine what exactly was going on and whether there was any larger plan behind the devices.
