A man from Murray, Kentucky, is in custody after allegedly attempting to push another driver over a bridge during an altercation on January 17. According to the Murray Police Department, officers responded to a report of a two-vehicle, non-injury collision at around 2:06 p.m. on North 12th Street near Keepers Way. However, dispatch later received multiple calls suggesting that the two individuals involved in the collision were engaged in a violent confrontation, with one of them being thrown over the bridge spanning a nearby creek.

When police arrived at the scene, they discovered two individuals on the ground beneath the bridge. Through their investigation, officers determined that 43-year-old Barrett Glastetter of Murray had initiated a physical altercation with the other driver. The situation escalated when Glastetter allegedly attempted to push the other driver over the edge of the bridge. The second driver fought back, holding onto Glastetter to avoid being thrown off. Despite the struggle, both individuals ended up falling over the side of the bridge.

Emergency medical responders transported both men to Murray Calloway County Hospital for treatment of potential injuries. Neither of the individuals sustained life-threatening injuries. Following the incident, Glastetter was arrested and taken to the Calloway County Jail, where he faces charges of second-degree assault and first-degree wanton endangerment.

The case remains under investigation by the Murray Police Department. Authorities are continuing to gather information to fully understand the events leading up to the confrontation and the subsequent fall. Both Glastetter and the other driver were fortunate that the injuries sustained did not appear to be life-threatening, though both are expected to recover. The incident serves as a reminder of how quickly conflicts can escalate into dangerous situations, especially when they involve physical violence.
