A music teacher who is currently in jail for several sex crimes against children may soon face even more charges after a new victim has come forward.
The case began earlier this year when detectives from the Salinas Police Department arrested 43-year-old Joshua Alfaro, who was living in Salinas and working as a music teacher.
Recently, another victim from Watsonville stepped forward to share their story. Investigators discovered that Alfaro had visited a music class at Watsonville High School, where he allegedly inappropriately touched a 15-year-old student multiple times.
The Santa Cruz County District Attorney’s Office is now reviewing this new information.
Detectives believe there may be additional victims out there. If anyone has any information about this case, which is listed as number 24W-03904, they are encouraged to reach out to Detective Marcos Rios at 831-768-3357.
This case highlights the importance of coming forward and speaking out, as it can help protect others from similar situations.
