Suspect Arrested for Assault with Intent to Rob in Northwest DC

The Metropolitan Police Department announced the arrest of a suspect involved in an assault with intent to rob in Northwest Washington, D.C. on Friday, March 7, 2025.

At approximately 1:59 p.m. that afternoon, the suspect approached the victim in the 5500 block of Connecticut Avenue, Northwest. The suspect then assaulted the victim and attempted to steal money. Responding officers quickly apprehended the suspect at the scene.

The arrested individual has been identified as 27-year-old Kevin Washington, who has no fixed address. Washington was charged with Assault with Intent to Rob and taken into custody.

The incident remains under investigation, and authorities are asking anyone with additional information to come forward.
