In Phoenix, a tragic incident unfolded on Monday evening when a teenage boy was arrested for shooting and killing a man at an apartment complex in the west part of the city.
It all started around 5:45 p.m. at the parking lot of an apartment complex near Camelback Road and 39th Avenue. Police officers rushed to the scene after receiving reports of gunfire. When they arrived, they found 32-year-old Marquise Maston suffering from a gunshot wound. He was quickly taken to the hospital in critical condition. Although doctors were able to stabilize him initially, he sadly passed away from his injuries.
Detectives immediately began investigating and soon discovered the teenage suspect hiding within the same apartment complex. The boy, whose name hasn’t been released due to his age, was taken into custody and later booked into the Juvenile Corrections Center. He now faces charges of second-degree murder.
Details about what led to the shooting are still unclear, and the police are continuing their investigation to piece together exactly what happened. So far, no additional information has been shared with the public.
This heartbreaking event has left the community shaken, with many wondering how and why such violence could occur. Authorities are working hard to ensure justice is served while urging anyone with information to come forward and help in the ongoing investigation.
