A 15-year-old boy was hurt in a drive-by shooting Friday afternoon in southwest Atlanta, according to the police.
The incident happened near Montreat Avenue SW around 3:15 p.m. when officers got a call about someone being shot. When they arrived, they found the teenager with gunshot wounds to his left arm and back.
Thankfully, the boy was awake, alert, and breathing when paramedics rushed him to the hospital for treatment.
Police said the teenager had been walking with his sibling on Oakland Drive SW when someone in a moving car started shooting. The boy was hit, but the shooters managed to flee the scene before officers arrived.
So far, investigators haven’t released a description of the shooters, and the teen’s name hasn’t been made public.
Now, the Aggravated Assault Unit is digging into the case, trying to figure out exactly what led to this terrifying incident. For now, police are working hard to gather any clues to bring the shooter or shooters to justice.
