A 25-year-old man in Port Arthur, Texas, is under investigation for using a 3-month-old baby to wipe snow off a car as part of a TikTok stunt. Police believe the act put the baby in danger and are working on getting an arrest warrant for child endangerment. The Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office could issue the warrant as soon as this week.
The incident happened during a winter storm that recently swept across Texas, covering the region in snow. A video of the stunt surfaced online, showing the man using the baby to clear snow from the car’s windshield. While some may see such stunts as a joke, authorities are taking it seriously.
Port Arthur Police Chief Tim Duriso spoke about the situation, saying, “It’s sad. A lot of people post things on social media for attention, but putting a baby on a windshield for clicks? That’s just not okay.”
When police were alerted to the video, they conducted a welfare check on the baby to make sure they were safe. The investigation revealed that two women were present during the incident, and one of them is believed to be the baby’s mother. Chief Duriso shared that the baby was unharmed, but authorities are still looking into whether others involved might face charges.
The video, which was initially shared on TikTok, has since been removed from the platform.
Port Arthur, located about 90 miles east of Houston near the Texas-Louisiana border, is now at the center of this case, which highlights the lengths some people will go to for social media fame. While it may have started as an attempt to go viral, the situation is a reminder that such actions can have real-life consequences.
