A tragic shooting on Thanksgiving morning in San Antonio left two people dead and two others injured, according to police. The incident happened around 8 a.m. in a neighborhood on the city’s east side, near Potomac and St. James Streets.
San Antonio Police Chief William McManus shared that all four people who were shot knew one another, including the person believed to be responsible.
The suspected shooter, a man in his 20s, reportedly fired the shots while leaving the home. Police were able to take him into custody shortly after the incident.
At the scene, Chief McManus expressed sorrow over the violence. “It feels like I’ve responded to too many incidents like this on Thanksgiving. It’s heartbreaking every time,” he said.
Authorities have not yet shared details about what might have caused the shooting. Investigations are ongoing as police work to piece together the events that led to the deadly encounter.
