A tragic story unfolded in Elwood, Indiana, where a husband and wife were found dead in their home after what appears to be a shooting.
On Thursday, December 5, police were called to a house on South G Street to check on 74-year-old Cynthia Odle. When officers arrived, they had to force their way inside the home.
What they discovered was heartbreaking—Cynthia and her husband, 69-year-old Louis Odle, were found injured and unresponsive.
Not long after, the coroner arrived and confirmed the worst: both Cynthia and Louis had passed away. The cause of their deaths was gunshot wounds.
Elwood Police Chief Jason Brizendine shared that investigators don’t believe there’s any ongoing danger to the community, which has provided some relief to residents in the area.
However, details about what exactly happened remain unclear, and officials are continuing to piece together the events that led to this tragedy.
As of Wednesday afternoon, there wasn’t any additional information available. Media outlets are working to learn more about the circumstances surrounding the deaths of Cynthia and Louis Odle.
