At least 22 Palestinians, including women and children, lost their lives as Israeli air and drone strikes hit multiple locations across Gaza, adding to the growing toll of destruction and grief in the besieged territory. Meanwhile, a power outage in northern Gaza is putting over 100 hospital patients in grave danger, further escalating the humanitarian crisis.
In one of the attacks early Monday, a missile from an Israeli drone struck three people in the Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza. The victims were reportedly trying to find food nearby when they were killed instantly. Their bodies remain on the street, unreachable due to the ongoing bombardment.
“Jabalia is now a graveyard,” said a local journalist, describing the dire conditions as the siege enters its 65th day. Food and water are almost nonexistent, leaving residents on the brink of starvation.
In a separate incident in Rafah, located in southern Gaza, 10 people were killed while waiting in line to buy flour. The dire lack of humanitarian aid has created desperation across the region, with hunger gripping both the north and south.
At Al-Aqsa Hospital in central Gaza, the morgue is overwhelmed with casualties from a recent bombing in the Bureij refugee camp. Nine members of a single family, mostly women and children, were among the dead. Survivors and relatives gathered at the hospital to identify and collect the bodies, adding to the emotional toll.
In northern Gaza, Kamal Adwan Hospital is facing a life-threatening crisis after losing electricity, oxygen, and water supplies due to nearby shelling. The hospital’s director described the situation as “extremely dangerous,” with over 100 patients, including children, in urgent need of care. Continued shelling has prevented repairs, leaving the staff struggling to provide even basic medical services.
This hospital, one of the last functioning medical facilities in northern Gaza, has already suffered tremendous loss. On Friday, an attack claimed the lives of four staff members.
The ongoing Israeli offensive has claimed the lives of more than 44,700 Palestinians since the war began, with the majority of the victims being women and children. The devastation continues to grow, as residents face unimaginable suffering and loss each day.
