In a tragic incident in Tomball, Texas, a man lost his life after confronting suspected burglars at his trailer early Saturday morning. The victim, identified as Dustin Nelson, was shot outside his home on Champagne Circle around 12:30 a.m.
According to investigators, Nelson was trying to confront the suspects when he was shot. Despite his injuries, he managed to stumble to a neighbor’s house seeking help. As fate would have it, a deputy who had just arrived home spotted Nelson outside, bleeding and asking for assistance.
Sgt. Richie described the moment, saying, “The deputy immediately called 911 after seeing the victim.” Sadly, paramedics couldn’t reach Nelson in time, and he passed away before they arrived.
Investigators are now piecing together what happened. They’ve been talking to witnesses and are looking for Nelson’s roommate, who wasn’t home when the shooting occurred.
Authorities are urging anyone who might have information about the incident to come forward. If you know anything, you’re asked to call Crime Stoppers at (713) 222-TIPS. Every bit of information could help bring justice for Nelson.
