A domestic dispute in Willimantic took a dangerous turn on Wednesday afternoon, leaving two people injured and in need of hospital care. The incident happened around 5:30 p.m. at an apartment complex in the area.
According to police, what started as a heated argument quickly escalated when one of the individuals involved grabbed a kitchen knife. Things spiraled out of control, and both people ended up hurt during the altercation.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene and rushed the injured parties to the hospital. One of them was later flown to Hartford Hospital as a precaution, though thankfully, neither person’s injuries are considered life-threatening.
Authorities have assured the community that this was an isolated incident, and there’s no danger to the public. The situation is still under investigation as police work to piece together exactly what happened.
