A tragic mystery has come to a heartbreaking end in Nashville. Gerardo Behori, a 64-year-old teacher who had been missing for nearly three weeks, has been found dead, authorities shared on Thursday.
Behori, who worked at Republic High School, was last seen on November 15 near Brick Church Pike. His disappearance sparked concern among family, friends, and the community, leading the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) to issue a Silver Alert on November 22. Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) revealed that Behori’s phone was last tracked in the Opryland area before it was turned off.
His family had been desperately searching for answers. Speaking to the media on November 27, Behori’s children explained that he left the high school on November 15 in a Lyft. They said it was very unusual for him to suddenly cut off all contact with his loved ones, including friends, family, and his girlfriend.
On December 5, the TBI confirmed the heartbreaking news: Behori had been found dead in Nashville. In a statement, they expressed their condolences, saying, “Our thoughts are with those who knew and loved him.”
Authorities said Behori’s body was discovered in the backseat of a vehicle parked on Music Valley Drive. It appears he had been living in the car. Police found no signs of trauma, but the Medical Examiner is now working to determine the cause of death.
This devastating discovery has left Behori’s family, friends, and students grappling with grief. His passing has also raised many questions about the circumstances surrounding his disappearance and death.
