A 74-year-old man has been charged with second-degree murder following the discovery of a woman’s body in a Haiku home. The tragic incident unfolded on Saturday, January 25, when police responded to a call around 7:34 a.m. about a woman who had reportedly sustained an injury, possibly from a fall.
Upon arriving at the scene just after 7:45 a.m., officers found 68-year-old Cynthia Moore from Haiku deceased inside the home. Following a preliminary investigation, the man, also from Haiku, was initially arrested and later released pending further investigation.
However, after continuing the inquiry, authorities re-arrested the man on February 5, formally charging him with second-degree murder. Police have not disclosed further details, and the investigation is still ongoing.
This tragic death has left the Haiku community in shock, and police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death.
