A heartbreaking crash in Orangeburg County has left one person dead and three others hospitalized. The fatal accident occurred Sunday afternoon around 2:17 p.m. on Eutaw Road, just a mile south of Eutawville, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol (SCHP).
Authorities report that a 2015 Chevy SUV, traveling south, veered off the right side of the road before colliding with a 2007 Honda sedan heading north. The impact forced the sedan off the left side of the roadway.
Tragically, the SUV’s driver, who was the sole occupant, died at the scene from their injuries. Officials have not yet released their identity.
Inside the sedan were a driver and two passengers, all of whom suffered injuries and were rushed to the hospital by EMS. Their current conditions remain unknown as SCHP continues its investigation.
This devastating crash serves as a stark reminder of the dangers on the road. Authorities urge drivers to remain cautious, as investigations seek to uncover the cause of this tragedy.
