ORLANDO, Fla. — A road rage dispute turned deadly on Monday morning when one driver fatally shot another after an argument on Colonial Drive. The shooting occurred just before 9 a.m. between Primrose Drive and Irvington Avenue, according to the Orlando Police Department.
Eyewitness Jeremy Buice described the shocking scene. He said it started when a man calmly got out of his car to speak with another driver, apparently upset about being followed too closely.
“He had his hands up, just telling her, ‘Watch where you’re driving!’” Buice recalled.
But the situation escalated in a horrifying way. Buice said the woman started yelling and then pulled out a gun, shooting the man. The victim was struck in the head and died at the scene. Police have not yet released his name.
Buice, who was only a few feet away, said he initially thought about trying to help but quickly realized there was nothing he could do. “There was no helping him,” he said somberly.
Officers investigating the scene were seen examining a white sedan and a red car. Police confirmed the incident was fueled by road rage but shared little else about what led to the tragic outcome.
In the wake of the shooting, security expert Dave Benson urged drivers to think twice before engaging in disputes with others on the road. He called such confrontations “a recipe for disaster” and advised drivers to stay in their cars, drive to a safe spot, and contact the authorities if they feel threatened.
“You just don’t know who you’re dealing with anymore,” Benson warned.
This devastating event is a sobering reminder of how quickly emotions can spiral out of control and lead to irreversible consequences. As the investigation continues, the community is left grappling with the heartbreak of a life lost too soon.
