A Missouri woman has been found dead, and her boyfriend has been charged with murder in connection to her death.
Aspen Lewis, 24, was reported missing on November 25, and her boyfriend, 23-year-old Aaron Malone, told authorities that she had been abducted. However, his story quickly raised suspicion. When deputies arrived at his home, they noticed blood stains on the road behind his truck and found pieces of jewelry nearby.
Aspen had last been seen at her home in Exeter early that morning. Malone gave investigators a statement about her disappearance, but his story didn’t quite add up. This led to a deeper investigation, and police found video footage showing Malone’s vehicle at Aspen’s house late the night before. The video also captured the sound of screaming, followed by Malone leaving and returning to her home in the early hours of the morning.
The next day, Malone told authorities he would show them where Aspen’s body was. They found her body in a wooded area, covered with leaves and sticks, and she had suffered severe head injuries.
Later, Malone admitted that there had been an argument, and he had disposed of her body. He was charged with murder and appeared in court, where he pleaded not guilty. He’s currently being held in jail without bond.
Aspen is remembered as a kind and spiritual person who loved animals and the outdoors. She leaves behind a young son.
