Paulding County, GA – A violent confrontation in Paulding County ended in tragedy Sunday when a woman was shot and killed by police after fatally stabbing a man, authorities reported.
The incident occurred around 1:15 p.m. at the Columns Apartments on Bill Carruth Parkway in Hiram. Officers with the Hiram Police Department responded to reports of an aggravated assault and arrived to find a woman actively stabbing a man with a knife.
Police attempted to subdue the woman using a taser, but she continued to advance toward officers while still armed. As a result, police were forced to open fire.
Despite immediate efforts to provide medical aid, the male victim succumbed to his injuries at the scene, while the woman was transported to a hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
Authorities have not yet released the identities or ages of those involved. No officers were injured in the incident.
The investigation remains ongoing as officials work to determine the full circumstances surrounding the attack.
