Trump Selects Dr. Oz for Medicare and Medicaid, Linda McMahon for Education, and Lutnick for Commerce

President-elect Donald Trump has revealed three big names for key positions in his new administration. The choices include billionaire Linda McMahon, talk-show doctor Mehmet Oz, and Wall Street executive Howard Lutnick. Let’s break it down:

Linda McMahon: Leading Education

Linda McMahon, best known as the co-founder of World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), is Trump’s pick to run the Education Department. This might surprise some, but Trump believes her leadership experience and business background will bring a fresh perspective to schools.

McMahon has supported ideas like school choice and charter schools. Trump said she’ll focus on empowering students and making America a leader in education. However, she’s stepping into a controversial role as Trump aims to cut funding for schools teaching what he calls “inappropriate political content.”

McMahon has already been part of Trump’s team, running the Small Business Administration during his first term. She also leads a pro-Trump think tank and fundraising group.

Dr. Oz: Overseeing Health Programs

Dr. Mehmet Oz, the former TV doctor, is Trump’s choice to manage Medicare, Medicaid, and the Affordable Care Act—programs that provide health insurance for millions of Americans. Oz will work under Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who’s been nominated to lead the nation’s health department.

Oz has promised to focus on preventing disease and cutting waste in health spending. But his nomination has sparked criticism. Democratic Senator Patty Murray called him unqualified, pointing to his history of promoting questionable medical advice on his TV show.

Trump, on the other hand, praised Oz as someone who can help fix the country’s expensive healthcare system. If confirmed, Oz will tackle major programs that support older adults, low-income families, and people without employer-provided insurance.

Howard Lutnick: Leading Commerce

Howard Lutnick, a Wall Street veteran, is set to lead the Commerce Department, which handles everything from trade deals to economic data. Trump says Lutnick will spearhead plans to raise tariffs, especially on goods from China, to protect American workers.

Lutnick has years of experience in finance and is known for his bold approach to business. He’s a longtime Trump ally and even appeared on “The Apprentice.” If confirmed, he’ll play a key role in shaping America’s economic policies.

Why These Picks Matter

Trump’s choices show his focus on loyalty and a bold shake-up of traditional government roles. From overhauling schools and healthcare to reshaping trade policies, these nominations set the stage for big changes ahead.
