Two people were seriously injured in a shooting that took place in Mount Prospect on Monday afternoon. According to the police, the incident was related to a domestic dispute.
Authorities responded to reports of a shooting shortly after 5 p.m. in an enclosed parking garage of a condominium building located in the 1200 block of Northwest Highway. When officers arrived, they found a 63-year-old woman and a 53-year-old man with gunshot wounds.
Emergency medical teams quickly transported both victims to Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge. Officials reported that both were in critical condition. However, the woman remained conscious and was able to speak with detectives at the hospital.
The police have not released any further details about the circumstances of the shooting, and the investigation is still ongoing. Officers are working to determine what led to the violent incident and whether any charges will be filed.
