A wild car chase that started in Sacramento ended with an arrest in Vallejo on Sunday, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
It all began just before 8 a.m. near Richards Boulevard and Interstate 5 in Sacramento. Police officers tried to stop a car, but the driver had no plans to pull over. Instead, they hit the gas, and a high-speed chase was on. Sacramento police eventually decided to back off and handed the situation over to CHP for safety reasons.
CHP picked up the chase, but even they had to call it off at one point to avoid putting others at risk. Instead of continuing the pursuit, officers used the car’s license plate number to track down the registered address. That led them to Vallejo.
When CHP officers arrived at the address, they found the car and gave the chase another shot. This time, they had a plan. Officers used spike strips to blow out two of the car’s tires. With the vehicle slowed down, it eventually came to a stop. But the driver wasn’t giving up just yet—they jumped out and tried to make a run for it.
It didn’t take long for officers to catch up. The suspect was arrested on the spot, bringing an end to the chaotic morning.
This dramatic car chase stretched from Sacramento’s busy streets to Vallejo, but thanks to smart tactics and teamwork, it ended safely.
