It all started around 1:20 a.m. when officers were called to the dorm for a reported stabbing. When they arrived, they found another 20-year-old student with a knife wound on his left arm.

The injured man was quickly taken to Pullman Regional Hospital, but he surprised everyone by refusing treatment and leaving the hospital on his own shortly after.

The investigation soon pointed to Tatiana Martinez, a fellow student and resident of Orton Hall, as the person behind the attack. Police wasted no time—they arrested Martinez right there in the dorm.

She was taken to Whitman County Jail and has been charged with second-degree assault. Officers also found the knife they believe was used during the incident.
