Early this morning, Seattle police were called to a tragic scene in West Queen Anne where a fatal collision resulted in the death of a driver. The incident occurred around 2:48 a.m. near Elliott Avenue West and West Galer Street, where officers discovered a vehicle that had collided into a building.

Upon arrival, the Seattle Fire Department (SFD) worked swiftly to extricate the single occupant from the vehicle but unfortunately pronounced the driver deceased at the scene. The King County Medical Examiner’s office was also on site to take custody of the body and will be conducting an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
Preliminary investigations by the Traffic Collision Investigations Squad indicate that the 41-year-old male driver was traveling at a high speed southbound on 15th Avenue West. He reportedly lost control of his vehicle as the roadway transitions into Elliott Avenue West, leading to a collision with a parked car just north of West Galer Street before ultimately crashing into a concrete building on the 1400 block of Elliott Avenue West.
