A shocking and deeply troubling incident has shaken the community at Osbourn Park High School in Manassas, Virginia. In an email to the school community, Principal Kane shared her concerns. “It is with a heavy heart that I must inform you of a deeply troubling incident that occurred at our school,” she wrote, explaining that the alleged assault came to light when a student bravely stepped forward. The attack reportedly happened in August, but details only surfaced recently.
The Prince William County Police Department and a school resource officer have since launched an investigation. Right now, they don’t have much to go on. The victim, an adult female student, told police that the attacker wore an animal mask during the assault. She said it happened in a bathroom near the school gym.
The police are working to identify the person responsible, but for now, questions remain unanswered. The attacker’s identity, gender, and appearance are still unknown.
In response to the incident, the school is making changes to keep students safe. Principal Kane announced stricter rules around bathroom breaks during class and promised an increase in staff supervision in shared spaces like hallways and bathrooms. “Be assured we are taking all necessary steps to provide a safe and supportive environment for all our students,” she said.
The news has understandably left many parents and students on edge. The school is asking anyone with information to come forward as the investigation continues. Meanwhile, the focus remains on ensuring the safety of every student and restoring a sense of security within the school community.
