Authorities are investigating after a body was found in the wheel well of a plane that landed in Maui following a flight from Chicago.
United Airlines confirmed the discovery happened on Flight 202, which had taken off from O’Hare Airport at 9:30 a.m. on December 24 and touched down at Maui’s Kahului Airport around 2:12 p.m. local time.
According to United, the body was located in the wheel well of the plane’s main landing gear – an area that can only be accessed from outside the aircraft. It’s still unclear how or when the person got there.
United is cooperating with law enforcement as the investigation continues.
