Detectives from the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Gang Suppression Unit (GSU) recently arrested Travis Smith, a local rapper who goes by the name “AR Trav.” Smith, who is also reportedly a member of the criminal street gang “Gas Guttah,” was found with a stash of weapons during a search of his home in Fair Oaks, California.
When detectives served a search warrant at Smith’s residence, they discovered multiple firearms, including an AR-15-style pistol equipped with high-capacity magazines designed for rifles. Smith was arrested on the spot without any trouble and taken to the Sacramento County Main Jail.
This isn’t Smith’s first run-in with the law. Back in 2023, the same GSU team arrested him when he was caught with two powerful 5.7 caliber handguns. On top of that, he’s also facing charges from a separate arrest in Honolulu, Hawaii, in October 2024, where he was caught with another illegal firearm.
Given Smith’s criminal history and the seriousness of the charges, GSU detectives worked with the courts to increase his bail. As a result, Smith is currently being held at the Sacramento County Main Jail without the option of bail. He’s set to appear in court on December 18.
For now, Smith remains behind bars as detectives continue their efforts to crack down on illegal firearms and gang-related activity in the community.
