Seattle is serving up another gorgeous sunset along the Washington coast, painting the skies in stunning colors. Thanks to a ridge of high pressure hanging out over the Pacific Northwest, our skies are staying clear, and the rain is taking a backseat for a while.

The cool, dry weather is sticking around too. With northerly winds in play, the temperatures at night are dipping below freezing and will keep doing so at least until the middle of next week. So, if you’re heading out early in the morning, don’t forget to bundle up—it’s frosty out there.

Here’s a fun little tidbit: Friday marked the last time we’ll see the sun set during the 4 p.m. hour until November rolls around. Starting Saturday, we’ll enjoy our first sunset of the season at 5 p.m.! Plus, from now until July, we’ll slowly but surely gain more daylight.

As for the weather, it’s all smooth sailing for the next several days. Expect those chilly, frosty mornings followed by sunny afternoons that are cool and crisp. By the end of next week, though, things are expected to shake up a bit. There’s a chance of showers for the lowlands and some fresh snow in the mountains returning to Western Washington.

So, enjoy these beautiful, dry days while they last, but keep an eye out for the return of the rain and snow later next week.
