Four people have tragically died in an apparent murder-suicide at a South Hill home, with authorities now revealing the identities and cause of deaths. The Pierce County Sheriff’s Department has identified William Vosler, 68, and his wife Eileen Vosler, 66, as the victims of homicides, each suffering fatal wounds inflicted by their own son, Shane Vosler, 33. William Vosler died from a stab wound to the chest and blunt force injuries, while Eileen Vosler’s death was caused by multiple stab wounds to her head and neck.
Shane Vosler, who lived with his parents, and his 34-year-old girlfriend, Sue Bin Lee, were later found dead inside the house, both suffering gunshot wounds to the head. Vosler’s death has been ruled a suicide, while Lee’s manner of death remains undetermined. Investigators found evidence suggesting Shane Vosler was responsible for the homicides, but it’s unclear whether Lee participated in the killings or aided him afterward. Lee had been deceased for longer when the bodies were discovered.
The bodies were found on December 31 inside a house located in the Hillsboro at Silver Creek development, midway between South Hill and Graham. A neighbor had initially requested a welfare check on December 23 after noticing William Vosler’s new truck being towed from the driveway. Deputies responded, but left after no signs of foul play were detected at the time. It wasn’t until December 31 that one of the Voslers’ adult sons broke into the home through a second-story window and discovered Lee’s body in a bedroom.
The Voslers, who kept mostly to themselves, had limited interaction with the community, which led to the delay in noticing their deaths. Detectives believe Shane Vosler acted alone, and any potential motive remains unclear. The case is now being closed, as there are no suspects left to charge.
