Legal Proceedings

The 13-year-old defendant was found guilty of second-degree murder and assault in November 2024. During the trial, it was revealed that the girls attacked Brown because they were “bored.”

The judge sentenced her to seven years in a juvenile facility, the maximum penalty under D.C. law for juveniles, which allows detention until the age of 21.
