Texas Dillard’s Heist: Armed Suspects Threaten Worker, Flee with Stolen Handbags

Share news:

Police in Collin County, Texas, are searching for a group of suspects who pulled off a brazen robbery at a Dillard’s department store in Fairview. The group not only stole high-end handbags but also threatened to shoot a store employee who tried to approach them.

The incident happened around 11 a.m. on Sunday at the Fairview Town Center, a busy shopping area. According to police, four suspects—three women and one man—walked straight into the handbag section of Dillard’s. While three of them quickly began cutting security cables off the bags, the fourth person acted as a lookout.

Things took a scary turn when a store worker tried to step in and ask if the group needed help. Instead of responding calmly, the lookout told her not to come near or touch them, warning that if she did, they would shoot her.

Security expert Bill Marcisz explained what this kind of behavior means: “It’s a clear message to people—‘Don’t get in our way, or you’ll get hurt. We’re going to take what we want.’”

After grabbing as many handbags as they could, the group calmly walked out through the same doors they entered. Police say the suspects drove off in a white, late-model Honda Accord with Louisiana paper license plates. The car was last seen speeding toward Stacy Road.

But here’s where it gets bigger: Fairview police say this same group is suspected in other robberies and thefts across North Texas. Officers are now working closely with other law enforcement agencies to identify the suspects and bring them in.

Marcisz pointed out that this is a common tactic for organized retail crime groups. “They cross jurisdictions—moving from city to city—because it makes it harder for police to track them down.”

Fairview police are asking anyone with information about the suspects or the vehicle to come forward and help bring these criminals to justice.

For now, shoppers and employees in the area are being extra cautious, and police remain on high alert to catch the group before they strike again.
