A heartbreaking story is unfolding in Fulshear, Texas, where a father is accused of setting his own home on fire while his three children were inside. According to police, 46-year-old Pedro Luis Parra Pulgar now faces three counts of attempted murder, with his bond set at a staggering $2.25 million.
The terrifying incident happened on November 6 at a house on Eldorado Lane in the Polo Ranch Community. The fire caused massive damage to the home, and first responders rushed to the scene to save those inside.
Two of the children managed to escape the burning house with only minor injuries. But the youngest, a three-year-old, was trapped inside. As firefighters and officers worked urgently, they heard faint noises coming from the house. Bravely, officers climbed through a bedroom window and pulled the child to safety.
The little one, suffering from severe smoke inhalation, was quickly airlifted to a nearby hospital. Thankfully, after receiving care, the child has since been released and is recovering.
The father, Pedro Pulgar, wasn’t left unscathed either. He suffered serious injuries in the fire and spent an extended time in the hospital before being released on Thursday. Authorities then took him straight to the Fort Bend County Jail.
This shocking incident has left the Polo Ranch Community shaken. The family home is badly damaged, and many questions remain about what led to this tragic event.
