A Virginia woman is in hot water after being accused of plotting a murder-for-hire scheme. According to the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, 44-year-old Gennevieve McGhee was caught on both video and audio allegedly laying out a detailed plan for someone to commit a robbery and murder on her behalf.
Authorities say McGhee met with a confidential informant at her home in Ridgeway, Virginia. This informant, working undercover with law enforcement, used a hidden recording device to capture their conversation. During the meeting, McGhee reportedly went over every detail of the plan, from how the crime should be carried out to how payment would be arranged.
The evidence was enough for law enforcement to act. Deputies arrested McGhee on Wednesday, and she’s now facing charges for criminal solicitation of murder and conspiracy to commit a felony. She’s currently being held at the Henry County Adult Detention Center without the option of bail.
Right now, the case is in the hands of the Henry County Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office for further review. Officials haven’t shared any additional details yet, but it’s clear this story is far from over as investigators continue their work.
