Charlestown, MA – A 24-year-old Boston woman has been charged with the murder of a 65-year-old man, who was found dead aboard a houseboat in Charlestown earlier this week.

Nora Nelson was arrested at the scene on unrelated warrants after police discovered Joseph Donohue unresponsive with multiple stab wounds on Sunday night. Officers responded to a call from Shipway Place at 10:43 p.m., where they found Donohue’s body aboard the houseboat.

Suffolk County District Attorney Kevin Hayden approved an arrest warrant for Nelson, who has now been charged with Donohue’s murder. She is expected to be arraigned in court on Friday.

“This is a tragic loss, and I extend my deepest condolences to Joseph Donohue’s family and friends,” said Hayden. “We are committed to securing justice for this terrible crime.”

The investigation is ongoing, and Boston’s homicide unit is urging anyone with information to come forward. Tips can be made anonymously through the CrimeStoppers tip line at 1-800-494-TIPS.
