Five people, including four teens, were arrested after an early morning attempt to break into a gun store in Fall City, Washington, ended in a wild chase and crash.
It all started just after midnight on Redmond-Fall City Road Southeast and 226th Place Southeast. King County sheriff’s deputies rushed to the scene after a 911 call reported a burglary in progress. By the time officers arrived, the suspects had already spotted the patrol car and bolted in a vehicle.
The group included two 13-year-olds, a 16-year-old, a 17-year-old, and a 20-year-old. As they sped away, deputies gave chase, and the pursuit came to a screeching halt when the suspects crashed on Northeast Tolt Hill Road near Ames Lake.
The 20-year-old, who later admitted to being the driver, was arrested on the spot. Meanwhile, the four teens decided to make a run for it, disappearing into the nearby woods. But their escape didn’t last long. With the help of deputies, all five were eventually tracked down and taken into custody.
Authorities didn’t just recover the suspects; they also found two stolen cars at the scene, a Hyundai and a Kia. The group is now facing some serious charges. The King County Sheriff’s Office has recommended first-degree burglary and possession of a stolen vehicle for all five. On top of that, the 20-year-old is looking at an additional charge for trying to outrun the police.
The suspects were booked into the King County Juvenile Detention Center, and the case remains under investigation.
